Sorenstam Blasts Wie for Playing Against Men
As Annika Sorenstam prepares for what will likely be her final major, she had some choice words for Michelle Wie, who will play at the PGA Tour's Legends Reno-Tahoe Open this week rather than the Women's British Open.
"You know, I really don't know why Michelle continues to do this," Sorenstam said. "I mean, we have a major this week, and if you can't qualify for a major, I don't see any reason why you should play with the men."
Wie was recently disqualified from the LPGA's State Farm Classic after she failed to sign her scorecard after the third round.
The Reno-Tahoe Open will be Wie's eighth PGA Tour event. She has failed to make the cut in her first seven tries. Wie did, however, make the cut in a men's event in 2006 at the SK Telcom Open on the Korean Tour.
