Hornets Beat Sacramento Kings 99-90

Chris Paul scored a game-high 34 points, doled out 9 assists and had 8 steals to lead the Hornets in a 99-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

James Posey added 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting for New Orleans, which won for the 4th straight time. David West gave 12 points while Tyson Chandler and Morris Peterson notched 10 apiece.

"It's hard to guard the guy (Paul). When he is on top of his game like that, it's going to be hard for anybody to beat them like that," said Kings guard Bobby Jackson.

John Salmons ended with 26 points and seven helpers for the Kings, who have dropped 3 straight and 5 of 6 overall. Francisco Garcia had 16 points and Brad Miller 13 in defeat.

The Hornets stung the Kings for a 29-21 lead after the 1st quarter, but Sacramento came back to tie it, 46-46, at the intermission.

New Orleans outscored Sacramento 26-17 in the 3rd quarter to take a 72-63 lead into the final 12 minutes.

A Peterson 3 and 2 layups by Posey gave the home team an 81-67 lead with 7:20 left in the game.

The Hornets' lead hovered around 12 points as they cruised to victory.

"Things are just starting to click for us, offensively and defensively," said Chandler. "We're coming together. As a team, we're playing better. We're a lot more thorough right now."
