Astros Sign LaTroy Hawkins to 1-year Deal
The Houston Astros come to terms on a one-year deal with right-handed reliever LaTroy Hawkins. The deal which was announced Friday and will pay Hawkins $3.5 million.
Hawkins appeared in 24 games for the Astros last season after being acquired from the New York Yankees in late July. He was 2-0 with a save and a 0.43 ERA in 21 innings with Houston after going 1-1 with a 5.71 ERA in 31 games for the Yankees. The 35-year-old Hawkins, a 14-year veteran, has also played for the Twins, Cubs, Orioles, and Rockies. He has an overall record of 59-77 with 76 saves and an ERA of 4.64.
