Men's College Player of the Year

The Naismith Awards, recognized as the most prestigious award in basketball in the nation, annually recognizes the top male and female college players.
Since 1969, when UCLA’s Lew Alcindor received the inaugural Male College Player of the Year Award, the Naismith Awards have honored the top men’s college basketball players in the nation. In 2004, Saint Joseph’s University Jameer Nelson was awarded the Male College Player of the Year Award for his leadership as the Hawks advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s round of the Elite Eight.
