Kings' Taylor suspended
NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Sacramento Kings forward Maurice Taylor was suspended five games without pay by the NBA on Wednesday for violating the league's anti-drug program.
The statement released by the NBA did not specify details of the violation.
Taylor will begin his suspension Thursday night, when the Kings host the Miami Heat. Sacramento (8-9) has lost four straight games.
The 30-year-old Taylor, a nine-year veteran, has averaged only 6 1/2 minutes in four games this season. He has not scored on the campaign and has not played since November 22, sitting out each of the last seven contests.
